SMF Inc. is an irregular route motor carrier, serving the 48 contiguous states, Ontario and Mexico under both common and contract operating authorities. SMF Inc. was started in 1952 by the late John J. Dooley. After John's passing in 1989, SMF Inc. continued under the leadership of two of his sons, Thomas & Gerald Dooley until September 2023 at which time they decided to sell the company and retire.

SMF Inc. continues to be a family-owned business under the leadership of the Iovanovici family. 

Meeting the distinct transportation needs of each customer is the service goal of SMF Inc. Our customers are provided with equipment and personnel dedicated to meeting the service requirements of that company. SMF Inc. specializes in designing "just-in-time" programs, allowing companies to better utilize financial resources and space previously designated for inventory. Working with each customer to provide prompt and efficient solutions to transportation problems sets SMF Inc. apart from other carriers.      

SMF Inc. offers expedited service in order to assist our customers with their full range of transportation needs. Shipments designated as "expedite" receive exclusive use of equipment, guaranteed pickup times and location updates as requested by the customer. 

SMF Inc. offers tractors with 53' reinforced dry vans, 53' step deck Conestogas and 53' reefers. We also have several sprinter vans available for smaller shipments.
